The Convenant House (top) is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a day of activities designed to create a “relaxed” environment where residents can meet fellow residents and volunteers, and share their struggles. Activities include games, performances by rap artists and dance troupes, and movies. Shakola Johnson, 19, (bottom right) explains, ”I came to Covenant House in search of a better future, I want to go to college and find a nice job.” Sharon Mcclain, 21, and Tracey Shields, the Senior Outreach Specialist at Covenant House, (bottom left) discuss how they met. McClain recounts she was living out of a hotel with her cousin when Shields found her. “Now I feel less stressed, I can smile, and hopefully a job will come through,” she reflects
