Do1Thing is proud and excited to announce that we have established a partnership with StandUp For Kids, a great organization doing outreach for homeless youth. Below is some information about their program; more info will follow in the coming weeks!
StandUp For Kids, a national non-profit, street outreach organization ran almost entirely by volunteers seeks out and assist the over 1.3 million homeless and street kids in America. Searching alleyways, abandoned buildings, in the woods, along rivers and beaches and anywhere else homeless youth might hide; kids are offered basic survival needs along with straight-forward counseling offering Kids hope. With 13 kids dying everyday on our streets, the organization is committed to telling these kids they care about them and then proving it at every turn.
The organization is proud to have been honored by Congress with the passing of a resolution proclaiming November as National Homeless Youth Awareness Month naming StandUp For Kids within the resolution. Along with other prominent political figures both The Bush & Clinton Administrations have also recognized the organization for its service within our communities all across America.
